    Activated Carbon Plant Solutions

    Raw Material Handling Section

    • Raw materials: coconut shells, wood, coal, lignite, bamboo, etc.
    • Storage silos / hoppers
    • Crusher / grinder – to reduce size

    Carbonization Section (Charcoal Production)

    • Carbonization furnace / kiln (rotary kiln or vertical furnace)
    • Operates in low oxygen environment to produce charcoal from raw material
    • Flue gas handling system

    Pre-Activation Process

    • Lump Charcoal (Input)
      Screening – Removes impurities and oversized pieces.
    • Crushing – Breaks charcoal into smaller particles.
    • Size Segregation – Sorts particles into uniform sizes.
    • Granulated Charcoal (Output) – Ready material for activation.

    Activation Section

    • Rotary kiln / multiple hearth furnace / fluidized bed reactor
    • Temperature: 800–1000 °C
    • Activating agents:
    • Steam activation (most common)
    • CO₂ activation
    • Chemical activation (with phosphoric acid, ZnCl₂, etc.)

    Post-Activation Process
     Section

    • Lump Ex-Kiln Activated Carbon
    • Destoning – Removes stones and impurities.
    • Crushing – Breaks carbon into smaller sizes.
    • Screening – Separates particles by size.
    • Demagnetization – Removes magnetic materials.
    • Dedusting – Eliminates fine dust.
    • Graded Activated Carbon – Final processed product.

    Cooling Section

    • Indirect water-cooled screw conveyor or quenching system
    • Prevents auto-ignition of activated carbon

    Screening & Milling Section

    • Vibrating screen (for particle size separation – powdered, granular, extruded)
    • Pulverizer / hammer mill
    • Magnetic separator (removes iron contamination)

    Washing & Acid Leaching Section (if required)

    • Removes soluble impurities (ash, metals)
    • Neutralization with water & drying

    Drying Section

    • Rotary dryer / fluid bed dryer
    • Reduces moisture to <5%

    Packaging Section

    • Bagging machines (25–50 kg bags, jumbo bags)
